Association of Abnormal Coagulation Tests in Dengue Fever with Clinical Outcomes of The Patients

Objective: To assess the coagulation test abnormalities (prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time and fibrin degradation products) in dengue fever patients its impact on clinical outcomes of patient.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
 Place Duration Study: Hematology Department, Pakistan Naval Ship Shifa Hospital, Karachi Pakistan, from Aug 2016 to Feb 2017.
 Methodology: A total 135, serologically proven positive dengue-infected IgM cases, based enzyme-linked immunesorbent assay, were included study. Prothrombin products levels measured STA Compact Max® (STAGO) SysmexCA-1500. Clinical Outcomes patient noted.
 Results: At admission, elevated prothrombin was observed 8(5.6%) cases remained high at discharge (p-value 0.008). Elevated 57 (42.2%) admission whereas, discharge, it 56 (41.5%) cases. Increased level (>5) seen 30 (22.2%) while increased 25 (18.5%) (pvalue 0.007). Out 135 patients, mortality two remaining 133 (98.52%) survived discharged.
 Conclusion: In conclusion, can be labeled as early predictors disease severity their derangements are associated with outcome infection.
